Common Feliway Problems

As great of a solution for feline behavioral concerns as Feliaway is, it isn't a guaranteed 100% solution. What common Felaway problems might you need to be concerned with in your pursuit of a happy healthy friend? What do you need to know that will help you use it more effectively?
While Feliway for Cats does provide a solution in the vast majority of case, it is important to be aware of it's limitations. You are not always guaranteed an immediate solution to problems of aggression, inappropriate urination, or stress related issue. Depending on your particular animals and the specific problem, Feliaway's impact may not be felt for a week or two, or the problems improved but not completely eliminated quickly. The best advice to be given in this situation is to simply be patient. Things like behavioral modification or reduction of kitty stress may not happen overnight, and you don't want to abandon a solution before it has a chance to work.
It's also very important to set the expectation for your use of Felliway, as well. If your pet is experiencing one of a number of common cat health care problems, then Feliway is not the appropriate solution for them. If your moggy is spraying due to urinary tract infections or various sorts of kidney problems, then you have a medical issue, not a behavioral one, and the appropriate solution for you is going to involve a trip to the veterinarian instead of the application of cat facial pheromones.
One less serious concern is the difficulty of spelling Feliway in the first place. It's not exactly a long word, but if you hear it and don't see it spelled, you are likely to run into problems finding the right answers. Feliaway, felliway, and felaway are some of the most common misspellings I see when people are searching for information about Feliway Comfort Zone, or sometimes Feliway Comfortzone. If you've typed in felliway, felaway, or feliaway, hopefully you will still be able to find what you need. If you've gotten here, then I feel quite certain the information you need is right at your fingertips!
An even more facetious, though still heartfelt concern is the name Felaway itself. Specifically with the sound of the word, and 2 of the more common misspellings (feliaway, felaway) it sounds less like a pheromone-based relaxation and stress reduction product than a pet repellent that makes the felines go away. Maybe it's just me, but I think somewhere in a conference room or boardroom someone must have raised that same point, but was overruled. Maybe a term like Felifriend would have been more appropriate -- Felifriend has a positive connotation, while Feliway, felaway, or feliaway sound much more neutral, or even potentially negative, particularly compared to Felifriend. Probably not a deal breaker, in any event, but it is a curiousity to me. Maybe I'm just weird that way, like feliaway.
Hopefully this overview of some of the potential common Feliaway problems has helped shed some light for you by showing some of the potential reasons why Felaway may not be an effective solution for some of your pet health and feline behavior related problems. Of course, by and large, Felliway has a great reputation and has helped many animals, and all the Felaway reviews point that out.
